Wednesday as part of the last preliminary phase of the Caribbean Cup at Sylvio Cator stadium half empty, the Grenadiers have suffered a crushing defeat [2-5] against the French Guiana. With this defeat, Haiti is eliminated and will not play in the Caribbean Cup in the USA. However, it retains a chance to play the play-off, in case of victory on November 13 to Basseterre face St. Kitts and Nevis.

In the first half, the Grenadiers had yet made a good start, dominating undoubtedly, on a penalty converted by Meshack Jérôme who scored the first goal for Haiti, at the 3rd minutes [1-0]. Then Dukens Nazon drove the score in the 27th [2-0]. A score reduced by Slovan Privat of the French Guiana team in the 40th [2-1].

After the break, visibly too sure of them, the Grenadiers will pay a high price for their complacency.

Solvan Privat found the equalizer in the 55 '[2-2] and double on a penalty to the 58' [2-3]. Surprised and distraught the Grenadiers cashing two more goals Ludovic Baal and Evens Rhudy, bringing the final score [2-5] for French Guiana, which with this victory and for the first time qualified for the Caribbean Cup and the Gold Cup (2017 USA)
